The Blob!

Here in the south Mother Nature seems to have PMS often. One day it's freezing, the next it could be almost 100 degrees (or over) so we have to find ways to accommodate for the ever changing weather! After all, toddlers don't like to be pinned up indoors for long! So after the bad lightening storms we've been having recently I devised a plan to keep the baby's outdoors and cool!
So, we made The Blob!

When I was a kid I attended a summer camp that had something similar but on a 100x scale, I loved it! It was my favorite thing about camp, actually. So I made a much smaller one for my boys! And now, you can too! <3

You'll need:

• 1 large tarp, preferably clear. You can find these on the painting section of home depot.
• Roll of industrial strength duct tape.
• Foam letters, food coloring and glitter. (optional)
• Flat ground. That part is serious, we'll get to that in a minute....
• Water hose.

Stretch your tarp out and fold it in half, then begin taping down the 3 edges, leaving a spot for your hose access.

 Before sealing it up add any fillers you want for your kiddos to look at, my boys loved the glitter and foam letters.

Begin filling it up on nice flat ground. I can't stress that enough. I got carried away in rushing the project with two toddlers and a baby that I forgot the importance of this step.... and was on a slight incline. Well, it took off without me! Haha rolling down the driveway! I wasn't too thrilled. I had to drain it and start all over! Trust me. Start on flat ground! Have tape ready to seal your tarp shut. Then get to playing!

Your kiddos will love it! We even sprayed the top so they could splash some too! My six month old was beyond fascinated by the foam letters that were just out of his reach, no matter how hard he tried!
